Size does matter when it comes to zucchinis at the farmers' market. Spotted this bucket of super large zukes at the San Francisco Ferry Building this past Saturday. It was being sold for $1 a pound but I didn't see any takers, probably because it would be too heavy to carry home. They really were huge. Just one could make enough vegetable tempura for a village outside of Tokyo.
